The stories of two very different women. Each a child of God:
DVD: Robber of the Cruel Streets : The Prayerful Life of George Muller. He was a German playboy who found Christ and gave his life to serve Christ unreservedly. His mission was to rescue orphans from the wretched street life that enslaved so many children in England during the time of Charles Dickens... Muller did rescue, care for, feed and educate such children by the thousands. The costs were enormous for such a great work. Yet, amazingly he never asked anyone for money. Instead he prayed and his children never missed a meal.
DVD: My Christmas Soldier (Based on true events) A small Georgia town struggles with the rationing and sacrifices of America at war. 11 year old Gordy and his sister Priscilla sense a fear in the train station where they await their father’s homecoming.... When a train loaded with German prisoners arrives in the station, Gordy’s curiosity is stronger than his fear. He dares to approach the prison train and makes contact with a German soldier named Hans. Through the courage to trust and the song ‘Silent Night,’ friends and foes learn the true meaning of Peace on Earth, Goodwill Towards Men.......
The two books below are for the younger readers. The second one can be used to read to a group of children with the picture on one page and the story then facing the reader. Paul White had a great gift for presenting Gospel truths in an arresting and engaging manner for children (and adults).
Regular attenders at Grace Bible Church are eligible to borrow from the mobile library (situated in the back paved area) after each Sunday morning service. Books and videos/DVDs can also be borrowed from the shelves in the hall and in the downstairs Sunday School room.
Each person is allowed 3 books for four weeks. Videos/DVDs (two per family) need to be returned the following Sunday. If you require an extension please speak to the person “manning” the mobile shelves, or email the church librarian.
To ask in the name of Christ is . . . to set aside our own will and bow to the perfect will of God.
